I am a history teacher at Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Arkansas. I am married to my wonderful wife Cheryl and we are blessed with two daughters, Ali and Erica. Although both of our daughters were born in California, they are enjoying growing up in beautiful Northwest Arkansas.
I was born in Levittown, Pennsylvania and attended Neshaminy Maple Point High School in Langhorne, PA. I earned my BA in History from Cal State Fullerton.
I currently teach AP U.S. History, IB History of the Americas, and U.S. History: Post-Civil War. BHS is a National Blue Ribbon School and has been in Newsweek Magazine's top 1000 schools for the last several years running. The greatest asset of the school is the fabulous student body.
My name is David Chapman. I am a history teacher in Bentonville, Arkansas. I am happily married to my wife Cheryl and we have two wonderful daughters. Alison is the elder of the two and Erica is the younger. Both are a delight and gifts from the Lord to us.
I teach International Baccalaureate History of the Americas and Advanced Placement United States History at Bentonville High School. I LOVE what I do and am convinced that I have found my calling in life. My students are awesome. They are a diverse group of individuals, each with their own special qualities that make me happy to go to work every day.
God has truly blessed me. Like all of mankind, I am completely undeserving of the Grace that has given me salvation through the substitutionary death of Jesus. There can only be ONE truth. It is logically impossible for there to be oppossing truths. Either what I believe is the truth, or it is not. It is my firm belief that God created all things and has offered unmerited salvation from eternal separation from Him through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. God's desire is for every person to welcome Jesus into their hearts. Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father.
I love history, especially 20th century history. My areas of specialty are military and diplomatic history. I am a student of the Second World War period. I have had the good fortune of visiting England and France on three occassions where I studied the Normandy invasion. I am currently compiling a library of veteran interviews.
